| Crappie
Fishing- Crappie may be fished year round but Fall and Spring
are the best times. They will move into the shallows become very
aggressive when the water temp is 45-50 degrees. This is their
prespawn time. They wait till the water gets a few degrees warmer
before actually spawning. During these times, look for shallow
water that also provides cover such as bushes, weedbeds, fallen
trees rocks, points etc. |
| Bluegill
fishing- Bluegill feed on insects and smaller aquatic life.
They like quiet water and cover, such as weed beds stumps, brush,
docks etc. They can be caught year round, but one of the best
times to fish for them is during the spawn. The spawn takes place
in the spring and early summer when the water temperature hits
70 degrees. They're easily caught during their spawn because aggressive
males guard the spawning beds. Bluegill tend to school together,
so if you catch one don’t move, others should be there.

| Yellow
Perch- Perch is a popular type of panfish. They spawn in the
spring, and prefer cool water. During the spawn, can be found
in the shallows, and in weed beds. Once the spawn is over, they'll
feed in the shallows then travel back to the deeper water. Perch
travel in schools. When you’ve found one, don’t move
because others are down there as well. |
