Bass
Fishing Home Page- Bass are a predatory type fish. Meaning,
they hide and ambush their prey. They are one of the most commonly
fished species in the United States. The most common Bass are Largemouth
and Smallmouth. |
How
to Fight the Fish- We think this is the best part of fishing.
The fight can be exhilarating and suspenseful, not to mention tiring.
How do you fight a fish anyway? That's what this page is about.
When it comes to explaining how to fight the fish. We've broken
it down into 3 areas, |
How
To Cast- Learning how to cast is basically the same for the
3 reels we've discussed. The only difference is how the bail
is opened for each reel. If your not sure how to open the bail,
we've included in our instructions. If your still not sure, consult
the instruction manual from the manufacturer. Let's start by choosing
the type of reel you have |
Plano
Tackle Box- If you were to open up any anglers tackle box, you'd
see a variety of lures, baits and other assorted equipment to catch
fish. What this article concentrates on is what else goes inside
the box. |
Fishing
Knots- This page shows you how to tie 2 different knots: |
Plastic
Worms- Arguably, one of the most productive baits on the planet
is the plastic worm. Whether you fish it on a Texas Rig, Carolina
Rig, Drop Shot, Florida Rig or on a Split Shot Rig, you can almost
always catch bass on a plastic worm. The plastic worm is a very
simple bait to learn to master and hopefully after reading this
article you will feel more comfortable and confident in your ability
to produce a limit while using it. Since this is designed to be
a basic instructional guide for the plastic worm I am only going
to get into basic rigs and techniques. |
Fishing
the Fluke- Spring is here. The familiar sounds of birds singing
their early morning songs fill the air. The warm mornings smell
fresh while cruising down the lake at an easy pace. Soaking up the
morning sun, as you pull up on a gravel bank. As you are rigging
this fish-like piece of plastic on a large sharp hook, you notice
a cleared out area of gravel. The males are starting to nest. You
back off a little deeper, suspecting an unwary female cruising the
area for suitable males nesting site. Tossing out that fishey thing
you let it sink slowly to the bottom. Suddenly the line tightens
you lean forward giving the bass a second or two to swim away, and
Wham! |
Whackin'
the Weeds- A short time ago, one of the OutdoorFrontiers members
asked for some ideas on how to fish heavy weed cover. This is one
of my favorite methods of fishing for several reasons. |
Bass
Starter Kit- If there's a fish that can be fished with an enormous
variety of lures and techniques this is surely mr. Bass. Every novice
basser seems to fall in confusion when it comes to make a selection
of tackle and artificial lures for bass. |
